Antique National Cash Register
This amazing National cash register is an amazing find here in Australia. Circa 1900, the plaque at the front reads, ‘The National Cash Register Company Co. Ltd., London. Made in USA. This elaborate cash register has a copper oxidised finish and what was referred to as a ‘Dolphin’ pattern designed by Tiffany. The serial number is 7465 and the model number is 346.
This cash register is in fine working condition. In a business it would make an imposing presence , creating both a draw card and conversation. When the keys are pressed down, a loud ‘ding’ sound is made as the cash drawer flies out and the price pops up. This cash register had come out from France when I purchased it. The currency is in English pounds. When I used this cash register in my antique shop it was the subject of genuine fascination. Many shoppers and tourists had never seen one before. It caused shoppers to linger.
