French Antique Lidded Cooking Pot
This French antique cooking pot with lid and swing handle is quite large. The body is made from brass and the features ,including handles and rivet joined fixtures, are made from copper. The copper handle on the lid has a mark on it which quite possibly was in reference to the maker.
The pot has been tin lined but would need to be retinned for cooking purposes. However, this pot could easily be repurposed. For instance, it would make an ideal storage container for display in a French country style kitchen. It is interesting to note that, on the bottom of the pot there is an antique join. I am always fascinted by these examples of bygone artisanship.
The pot measures 29 cm in height with the lid on and it is 22.5 cms in diameter.
