Vintage French Commemorative Bottle
This vintage French commemorative bottle was released to honour Admiral Alfred-Albert Gervais (1837-1921). He was Admiral of the French navy and Chief of the Marine Staff in 1892. He dedicated his life to serving his country and he played a crucial role in shaping France’s naval strategy.
This Vintage French bottle was mold pressed. The top part of the bottle features a portrait of Admiral Gervais. The lower part of the bottle features portraits of the Russian Tsar Alexander 111 (1845-1894) and Sadi Carnot (1837-1894). The famous bridge in Paris, ‘Pont Alexandre 111’ was named after the Russian Tsar as a diplomatic gesture to celebrate the Russian-French alliance established in 1891. Sadi Carnot served as the fourth French president of the Third Republic until he was assinated in 1894.
